Nurturing development in the Prime Areas of the EYFS (0-3 years)
This short course explores early child development in the Prime Areas of the EYFS: Communication, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development. It covers birth to 3 years, and suggests activities and interactions that nurture development for parents and early years practitioners to try with the babies and toddlers they care for.
Learning outcomes
You will know the expected developmental milestones for the Prime Areas of the EYFS for babies and toddler aged 0-3 years
You will understand your role in helping a child reach these milestones, and the importance of forming close bonds with the child / children you care for
You will understand the factors affecting development, such as health and socio-economic status, and the importance of creating a language-rich, safe, and challenging environment for young children
You will be able to nurture language, physical, and social-emotional development at home or in your early years setting
