An Outdoor Space to Learn

This course takes an outdoor, natural material experience as its starting point for many exciting activities and experiences. Early years practitioners will be guided through the process of creating an outdoor space to learn, and given useful planning resources and tools. This course was written by Wellingtons for Langley Hall nursery in Berkshire. The aim of this short course is to increase knowledge and understanding of the many areas of learning that can be created within the child’s outdoor environment, and to maximise the opportunities for learning by purposefully planning each area, involving children in the choices made. By the end of the course, practitioners will be able to create with the children, a more interesting and exciting outdoor environment that will allow children to explore and learn both independently and with adult guidance and support.
